Maisie Murphy nee Duffy (also known as Mary T)

Maisie Murphy nee Duffy (also known as Mary T) Ballinlassa, Belcarra, Castlebar, County Mayo and formerly of Crumlin, Ballyglunin, County Galway – on 5th March 2025, peacefully in her 91st year at her own home surrounded by her loving family.

Maisie MurphyPredeceased by her loving husband Joe (Martin), daughter Sheila Tolan, parents Tom and Celia, brother Gabriel, sons-in-law Wai Hon Ng and Michael Foy.

Sadly missed by her daughters Geraldine Foy (Westport), Anne (Belcarra), Paula (Castlebar), Angela Ng (Birmingham), Patricia Keena (Belcarra) and her son Kieran (Dubai), sons-in-law Martin Tolan and Kieran Keena, daughter-in-law Hilary Nallen-Murphy, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours.

May Maisie Rest in Eternal Peace

Maisie, a highly regarded teacher, began her teaching career in Greenauns National School Ross, and retired in 1999 as Principal in Belcarra N.S.

Reposing at Belcarra Community Centre, Belcarra, Castlebar, County Mayo on Saturday, 8th March from 5:30pm, concluding with prayers at 7pm.

Funeral Mass at St. Anne’s Church, Belcarra, Castlebar, County Mayo on Sunday, 9th March at 2pm, after which she will be laid to rest in Elm Hall Cemetery Belcarra, Castlebar.

The family wishes to acknowledge the care and kindness shown to Maisie by the staff and community of B Ward, Mayo University Hospital, St Johns Ward, Mayo University Hospital, and the Palliative Care Team.
