It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Olga Melnychuk, Lios na Circe, Saleen, Castlebar, Co. Mayo and formerly of Chervone Town, Ukraine – on 1st April 2026.
Predeceased by her beloved only son Mark and her mother Halayna and her father Yolodimyr.She will be sadly missed by her heartbroken daughter Ilona and Ilona’s partner Hervé, her brother Yuri and Ilona’s dad Gennadiy, her nieces, nephews, cousins, work colleagues, relatives and many friends.

Olga was well known and liked in Castlebar, having worked in Castlebar Primary School formerly St. Patrick’s NS and MSLETB.
Olga will repose at Kilcoyne’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar (F23 FD90) on Thursday, 9th April from 6.00pm with prayers at 8.00pm.
The funeral will arrive at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar on Friday, 10th at 10.40am for Funeral Mass at 11.00am. Afterwards Olga will be laid to rest with her beloved son Mark in Castlebar New Cemetery, Newport Road, Castlebar.
The Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on www.churchtv.ie/castlebar.
